Thai Produce Buyer

To source quality product from suppliers in Thailand at the most cost-efficient price, whilst maintaining consistent supply
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships.
- Negotiate prices to maximise product profitability.
- Visit manufacturers in Thailand to negotiate supply contracts.
- Review supplier list and recruit improved additional and/or alternative suppliers (e.g. based on price / location / quality accreditation etc.) to reduce risk.
- Ensure regularity of order placement and drive supplier commitment for products to be delivered on time.
- Minimise out of stocks by successful demand planning and procurement.
- Source new products through liaison with Senior Management and Sales ensuring product specification from suppliers.
- Forecast commodity/raw material pricing, market trends and global shortages by keeping up to date with industry news etc.
- Provide accurate and relevant feedback and insight to Senior Management and Sales.
- Communicate any product changes (in recipe, pack size, packaging material, manufacturing site, discontinuation etc) to the relevant cross-functional team in a timely manner.
- Assess and mitigate supply risks on an ongoing basis.
- Participate in the long-term strategies of the purchasing function.
- Partner with key departmental heads across the business to optimise business performance.
- Use initiative to implement cost savings and efficiency improvements within buying.
- Responsible for all administration of the purchasing function.
- Analyse historical sales reports to feed into future forecasts and stock holding levels.
- Attendance of trade events to network and generate relevant ideas for new product development.
- Assist with recruitment of Thai supply chain buying team and take responsibility for coaching mentoring and development of the team
- Adherence to Company H&S Policy and Procedures
- Display courteous and professional behaviour to work colleagues

**Salary**: Up to £30,000.00 per year
