We are recruiting for a Payroll Advisor to be responsible for running the company’s monthly payroll, ensuring staff are paid accurately and on time. This position will also be responsible for providing support and assistance to Line Managers and employees with any payroll related queries.

**Essential Experience, Qualifications and Competencies**
- Good level of education
- Proven Payroll experience
- Previous Experience of using an HR integrated information system, including reporting
- Good working knowledge of payroll legislation
- Strong working experience of automated and integrated payroll systems
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff, both written and orally
- Ability to use Microsoft Excel to an advanced level
- Ability to work under pressure, multitask and work to deadlines
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work on own initiative
- Excellent organisational skills
- Able to demonstrate a proactive, flexible, “can do” approach to work
- Able to maintain the strictest confidentiality at all times.

**Desirable Experience, Qualifications and Competencies**
- Having held full responsibility for end to end payroll processing.

**Responsibilities include but are not limited to**:

- Payroll input of new start information and processing leavers in the payroll system
- Processing of overtime, allowances and all ad hoc payments and deductions
- Checking of master data in the company’s HR system and ensuring successful data flow into the payroll module, analysing errors and ensuring corrections are made where necessary
- Payroll validation checks
- Statutory payment calculations and processing of all statutory payments applicable e.g SMP, SSP, SPP etc
- Processing employee earnings arrestments
- Processing employee expenses as part of the monthly payroll
- Raising payments to third party vendors
- HMRC reconciliation of RTI and PAYE
- Internal reporting as required
- Handling employee payroll queries
- Processing the Year End requirements for payroll
- Participating in internal and external audits, as required
- Processing BACS payments for the monthly payroll and any associated payments
- Handling the payroll aspects of employee benefits e.g. pension scheme deductions and payments to pension provider, deductions for PMI
- Preparation of P11Ds, P45s and P60s as required
- To ensure the information in the Payroll module of the company’s HR system is always accurate
- To provide Payroll information reports, standard reports every month and also ad hoc reports as required from the system.
