Leading retailer have a fantastic opportunity for a Head of Estates to join a busy Property department.

This retailer has a a growing portfolio of over 700 sites within the UK, and an active forward thinking business strategy to grow their portfolio further, this role will be a key business partnering role in achieving the exciting expansion plan

The role will lead a team of Estates Managers who take day-to-day responsibility for the management of the company's property portfolio. The team is responsible for ensuring that property operational issues are minimised, costs are mitigated and that lease events are monitored and acted upon in a timely manner.

Responsibilities / Objectives

To lead and develop a team of Estates Managers

Preparation of Board papers to be presented to senior managers and Directors

To co-ordinate key lease events and to allocate appropriately

To complete from inception to conclusion rent reviews and lease renewals

To ensure any disputes between Landlords and Tenants are resolved promptly with the minimum disruption and cost to the business

To take responsibility for securing refunds or overpayments from third parties due to the company

To resolve operational problems for stores quickly and efficiently with the minimum disruption and cost to the business

To be able to make and implement own decisions, balancing risks against benefits for the Company's long term financial objectives

To understand the commercial objectives of the company and to have a flexible approach to the working hours and a willingness to travel the UK

Where appropriate checking invoices from Landlords to ensure accuracy and challenging where appropriate control of payment of invoices.

To take overall responsibility for the management of the property database

Skills And Experience
- Significant experience within a Senior Estate Management role

Experience in the acquiring of retail premises.

Experience of managing third party professional teams and tenant/landlord relationships.

Track record of building and sustaining relationships with individuals in the sector.

Analytical and organisational skills to lead discussion with senior managers and external stakeholders.

Aware of legislative changes that affect real estate within the UK.

Excellent communicator, planner, and be adaptable to changing priorities

Self-starter, proactive and able to work with mínimal supervision in the delivery of the role and drives the next stage of development at every opportunity.
