Sawmill Operative

Due to an increase in demand, G & M Davies Ltd are seeking to appoint a Sawmill Operative within our family run business in Llanferres, Denbighshire. The role will work within the sawmill, supporting operational tasks associated with The Larch Cladding Company and JD Logs.

This is a ‘hands on’ practical role working within a fast-paced environment. The ability to work as part of team, as well as the capability to work independently is key to this position.

Main tasks will include operating machinery such as the log processor and conveyer equipment, kindling machine, and supporting the loading/unloading of timber to the larch production line.

Producing and packing timber related firewood products to the required size and quantity, and palletising in preparation for delivery under the direction of the Operations Co-Ordinator. General yard duties will be required to maintain good housekeeping.

**Essential Skills**

Experience of operating production machinery or willingness to learn.

Familiar with Health and Safety regulations.

Ability to carry out physical duties and manual work.

**Desirable Skills**

Experience of working within a timber manufacturing or sawmill environment.

Knowledge of the timber industry.

Forklift licence holder or willingness to learn.

**Role Details**

Job Type - Full Time 40 hours a week onsite at CH7 5SH. Monday to Friday 7.50am - 4.50pm.

There is no remote working available for this role.

Salary - £21,673.60 per annum. 20 days annual leave plus bank holidays.
