**Job title**:Advanced composite materials (non-metallic)

**Location**: Preston, Warton - hybrid and flexible working arrangements - dependant on business needs

**Salary**: £45,326+

**What you’ll be doing**:

- Undertake and support R&D into wider non-metallic materials including polymeric coatings, structural foams, additive process materials, conductive materials, and pre-ceramics
- Support Governance activities including creation and maintenance of Material and Process Specifications for Technology Delivery activities
- Plan, conduct and supervise related test and evaluations activities. Provide effective project management to ensure delivery of projects in time and to budget
- Report to the Principal Technologist and support route mapping, development & qualification of advanced composite technologies

**Your skills and experiences**:

- Strong knowledge and understanding of the theory, principles & applicability of advanced non-metallic materials, composites and polymers including their properties and processing characteristics
- Relevant industrial experience in development, fabrication, and/or evaluation of advanced and multifunctional composites materials
- Capabilities in simulation, design and analysis of composites and integrated structures would be an advantage
- Experience in engaging differing functional/discipline areas to collaborate and achieve desired goals

As a part of Non-metallic Materials and Composites you will have close interactions with wider materials, manufacturing and structural functions plus product development, Materials Engineering and Governance teams.
