This job involves a varied selection of clinics including single handed orthoptic clinics for mixed adult and paediatric caseload of patients with all levels of abilities, Orthoptic and optometry dual clinics for new and review patients, orthoptic secondary screening clinics and multidisciplinary clinics with the paediatric ophthalmologist which also involves adult motility cases. The post holder will need to travel to sites other than their nominal base to undertake these clinics. There will be a need to perform Orthoptic pre-operative and post-operative assessments for both paediatric and adults cases. As the nominal base for this role has an urgent eye care clinic on site it will be necessary to perform orthoptic assessments for urgent patients from this clinic to aid with diagnosis and symptom management.
