**Role Purpose**:
This is an exciting opportunity to join a new team being created, which will be responsible for network build, optimisation & inventory of VBSE core & access network infrastructure. Supporting the Transmission Lead with creating and understanding design documents, to be able to support the Field and Operations teams.

**What you'll do**
- You'll be working with Vodafone technical teams to deliver and maintain a new core network against HLD/LLD requirements
- You'll take ownership of transmission inventories and successful handover to Operations (Fibre routing/Channel allocations/As built documentation)
- Provide technical support/assistance on Vodafone VBSE transmission platform, ownership of escalated issues and drive to resolution
- Manage equipment upgrades in association with equipment vendors and liaise with the change management function pre and post implementation
- Work with the Transmission Lead to create and understand Design Documents, in order to support the Field & Operations teams.

**Who you are**:
You'll have:

- Deep knowledge of Transmission DWDM Technologies to include but not limited to Ciena
- Experience in the use of Transmission management platforms, and inventory systems (OneControl, MCP, DNA, CRAMER & GIS),
- Experience in the delivery of Transmission networks in line with design documents.
- Experience of promoting and developing good working relations with other Departments, external agencies and Contractors.

**You'll have knowledge of**:

- DWDM/OTN principles
- Multiservice/Reconfigurable Switching
- Optical Switching
- Transmission Network Management Systems (NMS)
- Legacy SDH/PDH Networks
- Synchronisation
- Experience in Telecommunications with a major telecoms operator
- Must be willing to go through DV clearance

**Security Clearance**: This position requires the eligibility and ability to obtain and hold UK Developed Vetting (DV) clearance.
