**About us**
Kaleidoscope CFA is a film production company based in the North East and working across the UK. We work predominately with corporate clients, helping them deliver video content in the form of promotional films, product films, educational films, event videography and 2d animations. Our clients include the NHS, local councils and universities and private engineering businesses. In the last 12 months we have begun working on TV commercials and producing self-funded shorts and documentaries.

**The role**
We’re looking for a Junior Motion Designer to join our team in Newcastle. You’ll have an interest in the latest in digital media and have a portfolio that demonstrates a passion for motion. You will be working with our lead animator to help produce 2D animations for our existing and growing client base.

We expect that you will have the ability to design images, text, and characters, before bringing them to life with engaging and nuanced visual animations. Responsibilities include meeting with clients to collate requirements, deciding on project objectives and creating products that resonate with consumers.

Additionally, it will be expected that the animator has some video editing skills. On occasion and when the demand requires it, the employee may be asked to help the filmmaking team complete editing tasks.

The initial period of employment will begin with a 3 month probationary period. If at the end of the 3 month period, the Employee's performance is considered to be of a satisfactory standard, in addition to the performance and sustainability of the business, then the role will be made into a rotating 12 month contract.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Produce creative concepts that are in line with client branding and demands.
- Develop rough drafts of concepts and present these to clients through storyboards, style frames and scripts.
- Collaborate with other creatives in a design team to ensure a common vision and consistent branding
- Ensure that a design project remains within scope, time, and budget.

**Skills, Knowledge and Expertise**
- A passion for creative ideas
- Well-versed in Adobe CC, with expertise in After Effects and Illustrator
- Strong knowledge of digital 2D animation techniques and principles
- Capability to develop assets and artwork for an animation workflow within After Effects
- Work effectively with the animation team to identify challenges and opportunities, using creative and strategic thinking to generate solutions
- Keen learner - enthusiasm to keep on top of the latest trends in motion design and animation, always pushing to improve skills
- Solid graphic design skills and the ability to read and interpret brand guidelines are a huge bonus

**Preferences**
- Video editing capabilities within Final Cut Pro X or Adobe Premiere.
- Bachelor’s degree in animation, motion design, or similar.
- Experience of 3D animation software such as Cinema 4D/Blender.
