**The Role**

We currently have a vacancy for a Senior Buyer this is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic individual to further advance their career in our dynamic team. The person will be responsible for the tactical day-to-day activity e.g. ensuring all orders are placed, systems pricing is accurate managing suppliers, and leading negotiations across a range of key categories. However, this role has the immediate potential to become a more strategic and leading position within the organization

The person will work closely with Finance and the Supply Chain function in developing and implementing procurement processes. He or she will have tactical responsibility for the development and implementation of policies, procedures and systems that support the company’s strategy and vision.

**Main Duties & Responsibilities**
- Source and purchase products and services from local and international suppliers that meet quality, price, and delivery requirements.
- Manage and develop supplier relationships to ensure competitive pricing, reduce business risk and to drive innovation.
- Lead negotiations and contract talks.
- Monitors commodity trends and prices to ensure competitiveness and feedback with recommendations.
- Manage, maintain and update all current procurement systems. Responsible for ensuring all costs are accurate.
- Lead point of contact for all price queries.
- Maintain updated records of purchased products, delivery information and invoices.
- Analyse all current spend across categories and work cross-functionally to identify improvement or cost-saving opportunities.
- Prepare and present financial reporting (monthly /weekly) against defined KPIs.
- Investigation and evaluation of new potential suppliers, recommending those most desirable to senior management.
- Keep abreast of best-in-class procurement practices in order to facilitate effective and practical solutions and report back to internal stakeholders.

**Requirements**:

- A minimum of 5 years within a purchasing function. Not essential, but ideally within the manufacturing industry.
- A relevant Procurement diploma or degree would be advantageous.
- Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
- An organised and methodical approach to working cross-functionally.
- Proven ability to work under own initiative.
- Strong analytical and computer skills.
- Pro-active in decision-making with keen problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work on one’s own as well as a team.
- Strong influencing and negotiating skills.
- To work effectively within a dynamic procurement environment.
- Excellent organizational skills and a good eye for detail.
- A desire to learn about our products, systems and customers.
- Ability to use your own initiative and make informed decisions.
