The Data and Student Analytics team are spearheading a transformation of the university’s data analytics capability. Our aim is to support our key stakeholders in the university by enabling evidence driven decision making through data and analytics.

**The role**

The Assistant Head of Business Intelligence has responsibility for the operational delivery of the Business Intelligence team within Data and Student Analytics ensuring that best practice processes are embedded to deliver a high-quality service to the university. You will also work directly with stakeholders to understand their needs and translate those into focused BI products that support effective decision making. You will manage, through team members, the end-to-end process of business intelligence, from defining the initial scope of work, being responsible for analysis and delivery of the final output.

This is an exciting time to join the Business Intelligence team as we lead the OU’s adoption of our new cloud-based analytics platform, and in this role, you will have the opportunity to influence and support adoption and ways of working across the OU as we establish a centre of excellence model.

Although this role is aligned to our Milton Keynes office, we are flexible on location across the UK, but will require occasional attendance onsite.

**Skills and experience**

We are looking for a proactive, team-oriented individual who has a keen eye for detail.

Are you an experienced manager of business intelligence or data analytics teams? Can you drive delivery across multiple projects or workstreams?

Do you have a proven ability to understand complex business questions and take a lead role in developing effective solutions that drive evidence-based decision making?

Can you tell simple and persuasive stories with data, presenting complex pieces of analysis in an impactful way that can be understood by both technical and non-technical audiences?
