**Job overview**:
As a service, we are actively seeking to develop our therapeutic offer for children, young people, and families, and we are keen to grow our Child Psychotherapy team. We are looking for an individual who is passionate about psychoanalytic thinking, clinically curious and motivated to support the development of Child Psychotherapy within Cornwall.

The Postholder will have access to regular supervision and be provided with excellent opportunities for professional development.

**Main duties of the job**:
To provide comprehensive, high-quality, specialist Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy to children and young people with severe and complex mental health difficulties; and to actively support families, parents, and carers. This will include specialist assessments for psychotherapy, State of Mind assessment, STPP and longer-term psychoanalytic psychotherapy.

An active presence and thoughtful contribution to the life of their core CAMHS teams will be an important part of the Child Psychotherapist’s role. They will attend multi-disciplinary team meetings, provide supervision to colleagues interested in psychoanalytic thinking, and offer opportunities for consultation and complex case discussion.

Cornwall has a strong tradition of providing Child Psychotherapy training places and this role will include opportunities to support trainees and assistants in their development.

We work in people's homes, in community clinics and bases. Some staff work from one of our 13 community hospitals. Our aspiration is to have great people, provide great care, be a great place to work and a great partner.

Just over 532,000 people live here. A third of people who live in Cornwall are supported by acute hospital services in Devon. As a result, we also work closely with our partners in Devon. In the summer, and during ot
