An exciting opportunity has arisen to be an integral part of a community-based service covering patients living in Dorset, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight who require Environmental Control Systems,.
The team consists of a Consultant in Rehabilitation Medicine, Clinical Scientist/ Team Lead, Occupational Therapists and Clinical Technologists who support patients with complex disabilities, assessing for and installing bespoke environmental control systems to promote independence and safety.
**Office base**: Portsmouth

Ideally the applicant will have worked in the field of Environmental Controls/Assistive Technology and bring with them practical skills and knowledge of these systems and have undertaken a ‘hands on’ role in the assessment of clients and the installation of equipment. Additionally, experience of working with patients or people with complex disability and/or communication difficulties would be an advantage.
The successful applicant will play a key role in the Environmental Control Service team enhancing the lives of patients with comples disability.
They will be part of the wider University Hospitals Dorset team with access to health and well being services for staff, training, and salary sacrifice opportunities.

Applicants will, as a minimum, require a BSc in an appropriate engineering discipline and Masters level qualifications, or knowledge and experience at Masters level. Allied Health Professional Registration as a Clinical Scientist or membership of the Clinical Technology/Engineering Council.
Excellent communication and inter-personal skills are required to work with this client group, work within the multi-disciplinary team and promote the service.
There will be a requirement to undertake audit, service development, and to train others within the team and in the wider healthcare community.
Applicants should have use of their own car for business purposes and mileage will be paid.
