Residence Inn by Marriott Edinburgh is looking for a Operations Supervisor to join our winning Front of House team. This is a fantastic role for a dynamic individual who is looking at taking the next step of their career or looking to join a large hotel brand.
If you have worked in hotel reception and looking to becoming more than just a reception supervisor this might be the role for you.
An Operations Supervisor is predominantly the leader on shift and gets very much involved in the hotel admin behind the scenes.
An excellent opportunity for someone who wants to develop in a role which will help them quickly progress their career to an Assistant Manager role.

What you’ll be doing
- Process all guest check-ins, verifying guest identity, form of payment, assigning room, and activating/issuing room key
- Set up accurate accounts for each guest according to their requirements
- Ensure rates match market codes, document exceptions
- Secure payment prior to issuing room key, verify/adjust billing
- Compile and review daily reports/logs/contingency lists
- Complete cashier and closing reports, counting the bank at the end of each shift securely; Count and secure bank at beginning and end of shift.
- Process all payment types, vouchers, paid-outs, and charge
- Obtain manual authorizations and follow all Accounting procedure
- Supervise/ lead the Food and Beverage duties if working the busy breakfast period (07:00-10:00)
- Clearing tables
- Helping restock the buffet
- Putting glasses and cups in the dishwasher
- Making guests coffees using the push button automated coffee machine

- Have an understanding of lost prevention and confidently report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager; complete safety training and certifications;
- Always ensure personal appearance is clean and professional;
- Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information; protect company assets.
- You will welcome and acknowledge guests; anticipate and address guests’ service needs; assist individuals with disabilities; thank guests with genuine appreciation.
- An ability to speak using clear and professional language; prepare and review written documents accurately and completely; answer telephones using appropriate etiquette. Ensure adherence to quality standards.
- You will have experience using property management systems, being able to enter and locate information using computers/POS systems.
- Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 10 pounds without assistance.
- Eager and open to perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Managers.
