The HSDU is responsible for providing a decontamination service within Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust and other specialist users outside the organisation as in accordance with the UK Medical Device Directive and ISO 13485: 2016
- To work as part of a team in the decontamination unit
- Assist in the day to day running of the department through:
Supervising/training team members to undertake decontamination duties in all areas of the re-processing of Medical Devices by the receipt, wash, assembly, pack, sterilization, delivery and tracking and tracing process in accordance with policies and procedures, to both internal and external customers, providing a safe product for use in direct patient care.
