Nursery School Assistant

Nursery School Assistant - (Permanent/ 25 - 30 hours )

Worktime: Hours between 8.30-2:00 (times to be confirmed)

Job Duties: Nursery school Duties include: Work closely with Nursery School Leader/ Nursery staff/ management and with direction from Leader/management be responsible for the day to day running of the Nursery School. Under instruction of the nursery leader ensure the pre-school curriculum is followed closely, the planning carried out and implemented, child observation are completed and evaluated. Ensure routines are in place and carried through. Complete child records, along with other daily paperwork associated with Nursery School. Attend weekly 45 minute meeting with Nursery Leader and EYS (within working hours) and attend regular management meetings. Be willing and able to work overtime during busy periods i.e: Christmas play, sports day etc. To carry out some light domestic duties. To attend any relevant training.

Day Care Duties include: To ensure the provision offers a safe and stimulating play environment in which children are able to play freely. To provide afternoon snack/ meals. To deliver and exceed the minimum standard requirements for out of school care provision. To undertake any other duties suitable to such a post as required.

Qualifications/ Experience:
ESSENTIAL: NVQ Level 3 Childcare or equivalent. Extensive knowledge of the Northern Ireland pre-school curriculum and a good knowledge of the minimum childcare standards. SEN knowledge and experience.

DESIRABLE: 5+ year experience in a DENI funded Nursery School in a paid capacity.
