**Background**

Centred (Scotland) is a progressive charitable company based in the Highlands, supporting people through mental ill-health towards mental well-being.

Our head office is based in Inverness, and we provide community-based services in Caithness, Easter Ross, Inverness, and Lochaber. We also have a recovery centre in Inverness, which provides accommodation for up to 23 service users.

**Location: Inverness and locations across Highland**

**Reports to: Discovery College Manager**

**Hours: 35 hours**

**Salary: £26,169 -£28,319**

**OUR DISCOVERY COLLEGE**

The Highland Discovery College is an exciting new and inclusive service based on the principle that education and learning can be a transformative experience to promote wellbeing and aid recovery.

The work has been co
- developed alongside those with lived experience and in collaboration with Spirit Advocacy, Scottish Recovery Network, NHS Highland, Caithness Mental Health Group and Habitus Collective, who have all supported the planning, building, and envisioning of this new development for Highland.

The College seeks to bring people from different lived experiences, and who are at different stages of their journey. Course availability will be open to all, and students are not required to disclose any health or demographic data to participate. Helping and supporting people to gain confidence, life-skills and develop their employability is a fundamental part of the discovery college aim.

Our Discovery College will operate across multiple hubs, and this project will provide:

- A dedicated programme of Learning events, Training courses and Employment opportunities open to all of our clients.
- A programme focussing on social engagement, developing life-skills, and improving health and wellbeing as well as gaining qualifications and employment opportunities ultimately to support people with lived experience and substance issues to rebuild their lives.
- Courses will be co-developed with community and on topics tested to improve wellness and connectedness
- A safe hub and non-judgemental space to flourish, develop and rebuild lives

**PURPOSE OF THE JOB**

The post holder will be responsible for supporting the Discovery College Manager with key pieces of work:

- Developing our flagship Discovery College initially within a main site in both Inverness and Caithness.
- Supporting the development and growth of the Discovery College and related services including promoting and communicating about activities so clients and the general public are aware of what the offer is for them,
- Support the delivery of service provision across Connection, Learning, Education, Training and Employment services.
- Deliver training courses both online and face to face.
- Managing and co-ordinating bookings for training.
- Support client involvement and peer support in a spirit of co-production working closely with stakeholders so that the Discovery College moves to being a co-produced programme with our clients.
- Develop and maintain a network of excellent and effective relationships.Work closely with the other senior service delivery colleagues and managers across Centred (Scotland) as well as relevant external organisations.
- Work in the spirit of co-production at all times to ensure that Discovery College students are fully integrated into the development.
- Promote and support best practice in health and safety.
- Adhere to Centred Scotland Policies and Procedures at all times.
- Cover for other members of the Discovery College team and provide direct service delivery as necessary.
- Undertake, as required, any other duties compatible with the level and nature of the post and/or reasonably required by more senior members of staff.

This job description covers the current range of duties and will be reviewed from time to time. It is the aim of Centred (Scotland) to reach agreement on changes, but if agreement is not possible, the Chief Executive Officer, reserves the right to change this job description.

**ESSENTIAL CRITERIA**
- Ability to deliver presentations and training to a wide audience.
- Extensive experience of delivering presentations/training
- Effective administrative skills.
- Skilled in report writing.
- Knowledge of health and social care.
- Knowledge of, and commitment to, valuing diversity, equal opportunities, and related practices to support this.
- Driving Licence would be preferred but not essential.
