**About the role**
The Senior Care Assistant role in our Nursing Homes is part of dedicated team who are essential to the daily operations of the Home. Senior Care Assistants provide high quality care and support to our residents in a warm and safe environment. Senior Care Assistants play a crucial role in the delivery of care, working with the Registered Nurses and Care Assistants, the role of a Senior Care Assistant is to provide leadership, guidance and hands-on assistance to ensure the residents receive personalised care that meets their individual needs and preferences.
Our Senior Care Assistants also provide emotional support and companionship to residents, fostering meaningful relationships and promoting a sense of compassion, and advocacy for residents rights and preferences.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Provide direct care and support to residents with activities of daily living, including personal care and mobility in accordance with individual care plans and resident preferences.
- Supervise and support the care team in the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care, providing guidance, instruction and feedback as needed to ensure residents needs are met.
- Assist with the co-ordination of care services under the direction of the Registered Nurse.
- Act as a key point of contact for residents, families, and external healthcare professionals, addressing inquiries, concerns, and requests in a timely and compassionate manner.
- Monitor and document residents’ health, wellbeing and care interventions accurately and in accordance with regulatory requirements and best practices.
- Assist with the induction and training of new members of the team, providing support and guidance to support their success and integration into the team.
- Responsibility for the accuracy of personal recordings in residents’ records and maintaining confidentiality.
- Promote a positive and inclusive work environment, fostering team-work collaboration and open communication among care staff and the wider Home team.
- Demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning and professional development, staying informed about best practices and trends in care and attending training as required.
- Undertake any other duties that may be reasonably required as designated by the Home Manager.
**About you**
- Right to work in the UK
- Registered with NISCC
- Experience supervising staff is desirable.
- Educated to a minimum GCSE/NVQ 3 or above (or similar qualification) with a good standard of English.
- Previous care experience is essential, experience in a similar Home setting desirable.
- Medications experience within a care home setting.
- Ability to work independently and part of a team.
- A good standard of written and oral English
- A compassionate, non-judgemental approach to others
