**What you'll be doing**
As a **RRV Maintenance Chargehand**, your main accountabilities will be as follows:
- To ensure compliance with the Company’s Policies and Procedures on Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental, for both staff and depot facilities.
- Ensure that all Maintenance activities and premises are managed safely and effectively
- Quality control checks on post maintenance tasks (against approved VMI) and repairs
- Ensure that at all staff team members have a clear understanding of all relevant standards, codes, specifications, and instructions, what is expected of them and are they competent to deliver these commitments
- To support the modification (e.g. recertification) and introduction of new assets.
- Ensure spare parts are available when required
- Carry out safety briefing and team meetings as required.
- Ensure OCMS remains up to date
- Assist and monitor the development of other members of the team.
- To liaise with the Reliability Engineer and outside companies on engineering to resolve maintenance/reliability improvement issues.
- Carry out Level 2 on call duties
- Deputise for Maintenance Manager.
**Who we're looking for**
The following personal qualities and experience are required:
- Must have a full UK driving license
- Able to clearly communicate the requirements of a safe system of work to ensure that these are followed accurately
- Capable of taking ownership of tasks and communicating outcomes
- Strong work ethic with flexibility to work unsociable hours/nights
- Able to work on own initiative and seek out opportunities in line with level of responsibility
- Must be a good team player, with strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Understands the basic Company Protocols with regard to Accidents and Incidents investigations
- Uncompromising approach to the implementation of safe systems of work
- Good working knowledge of current H & S legislation
- Must meet and maintain the appropriate medical standard for the position, including drugs and alcohol screening.
- Be adaptable and versatile with engineering knowledge.
- Able to read engineering drawings and schematics.
- Basic IT skills
- Live in Kent/SE London area.
