Live-in Gardener

An enthusiastic and skilled gardener is required to oversee the care of an 80 acre estate which includes approx. 6 acres of formal garden, lawns, paddocks, woodland, and grazing grounds.

You will be required to work 5 days per week, covering 2 weekends per month, from 8am to 5pm.

**Duties**
- Your role is orientated towards horticulture and the finer elements of managing the 6-acre garden including walled garden, arboretum, large boarders, planted terraces and significant amount laid to lawn
- Rotate crops, cultivate, harvest and prune fruit and vegetables in kitchen garden
- Work with owners on suggested planting plan
- Prepare ground, soil and lay new turf/seed where necessary
- Managing fruit trees and general tee health
- Check health of plants and deal with pests and diseases in an organic way
- Tend to herbaceous border, topiary and walled garden
- Grow plants from seed within walled garden and formal garden as well as bulb planting.
- Implementing composting system
- Assist with pet care when needed, these include donkeys, dogs, and chickens
- Assist other members of staff as and when needed
- You will need to have a strong horticultural experience/training and knowledge
- You will need to be practically minded, with an eye for detail and proactive approach
- You need to be looking to make a long term commitment and be keen to be part of a friendly household team
- It is essential that you are pet friendly
- A driver is required
