Greenbridge Care Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced Support Worker for a unique and exciting role working with young adults with ASD and complex special educational needs, in a Residential College setting.

**About the job**:
The college is an award-winning service that enables students aged 16-25 to access transferable and meaningful opportunities in a personalised way, using highly specialised approaches.

You will be supporting young people to access tailored and holistic support packages and programmes, helping to equip them for independence and success in later life.

You'll be supporting young people in their daily lives, which means supporting them to not only access college, but in their daily home lives too. This will include:

- Encouraging YP to participate in their chosen activities or interests
- Assisting YP in the community.
- Co-ordinating scheduled activities
- Supporting YP to atted facilities and appointments
- Supporting, prompting and assisting with personal care
- Promoting and developing independence and life skills
- Support to maintain physical and emotional wellbeing and health.
- Ensuring records are accurate and up to date
- Dealing with incidents of challenging behaviours in a calm and level-headed manner, seeking to learn from any such inicdents

This is a full-time, permanent role, working 38.5 hours per week. Rotas are made up of 14 x long shifts per month, working a mixture of days and nights (7.30am - 8pm and 7.30pm - 8am) and 2 in 4 weekends.

**Requirements**:
At least 6 months experience of support work, ideally working with ASD, learning disabilities, mental health, and/or behaviours that challenge

Excellent communication skills, fluency in English, and good literacy and numeracy skills

A calm and confident manner, able to deal with unpredictable and challenging behaviours in a confident and compassionate way

A commitment to working with vulnerable people and to your own personal development
