Group Operational Energy Manager

Job Purpose:

- Plan, regulate and monitor the energy use across Ibstock operations
- Support operational management in the Group on Energy and carbon issues, providing suitable advice, assistance and training
- Improve efficiency by evaluating energy use and putting in place new policies and changes where needed
- Own and continuously develop the Energy Management Systems in co-ordination with SHEQ Director
- To promote and deliver competence training, ensuring compliance with statutory legislation, disseminating best practice
- Coordinate all aspects of energy management, from reduction of carbon dioxide emissions to waste management
- To work with energy procurement team on cost reduction initiatives
- To work with relevant departments on renewables strategy and rollout
Key Accountabilities
Energy
- Carry out site inspections and energy surveys
- Setting energy-saving processes and goals
- Deliver requirements for 500001 Energy Management System
- Develop, coordinate and implement strategies, policies and guidance to reduce energy consumption
- Assist with policies and systems for buying energy and helping with contract negotiations
- Provide practical advice and offer training on energy efficiency
- Develop promotional activities and materials to publicise particular schemes
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Essential
- A thorough knowledge of energy management systems
- Knowledge and experience of electrical and mechanical systems and processes
- Experience in manufacturing industry
- Experience of working with senior on site managers
- Understanding the mandatory compliance reporting under Energy and Carbon
- Experience in use of Microsoft Office packages
- Excellent numerical skills
