A really exciting opportunity has arisen as we are looking to recruit an Information Governance Apprentice. The post holder will be working in an exciting area for the council getting experience of the full range of data protection legislation.

Your next role

In this role you will log, coordinate and process requests for information under the remit of the Data Protection and Freedom of Information Act, using the apprenticeship to qualify as a Data Protection and Information Governance Practitioner.

This role is 37 hours per week but we operate an agile working policy, allowing you to manage your own diary and work flexibly, including off-site/remote working.

About You

You will be an enthusiastic, passionate and self-motivated. You will be eager to learn and use your experience to get a good grounding to support the Council to comply with all relevant legislation and regulatory requirements.

You will be able to demonstrate that you are able to creatively and pragmatically help the Council navigate challenging information related issues, including making difficult decisions in relation to data privacy risks and legislative compliance.

You must be fluent in the English language (as a requirement of Part 7 of the Immigration Act - for the effective performance of a customer-facing role).
