Project Health and Safety Services (PHSS) are looking for an experienced Health and Safety Inspector to join our vibrant, close-knit team in our rapidly growing family-run business. We pride ourselves in working with a wide variety of organisations across all sectors, and value our One Team approach above all else.

This is a boots on the ground role, and your typical week will involve working in the field with our wide range of clients. We are based in Glasgow City Centre, and offer travel opportunities across the UK.

**Responsibilities**

As a Health and Safety Inspector for PHSS you will be carrying out detailed site Health and Safety Inspections for our clients on our digital system, ensuring best practice of safety management is always maintained. This will involve:

- Managing and planning your own workload to ensure all client requirements are met.
- Helping client representatives on site to embed a positive health and safety culture within their organisation.
- Undertaking site and workplace inspections, ensuring clients are fully compliant with Health and Safety law and legislation by offering practicable controls and solutions.
- Liaise with those on site to ensure relevant actions are raised and closed out.

**Qualifications**

As a minimum we require our advisors to hold a NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety.

A full UK Driving Licence is also required.

The following additional qualifications are also desirable:

- NEBOSH Diploma or Equivalent.
- SVQ L4 or equivalent in Occupational Health and Safety.
- NVQ L4 or equivalent in Education and Training.
- Hold or be working towards a minimum of Tech membership of IOSH.
- An appropriate technical qualification from an engineering or similar discipline at Craft, Diploma or Degree Level.
- NEBOSH Certificate in Fire Safety or equivalent.

**Experience**
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role carrying out site inspections.
- Experience in management of client requirements on a commercially successful basis.
- This is a contractor position, so having a company set up for billing/invoicing purposes is essential.

- Able to analyse technically detailed health and safety information, identifying underlying issues and risks associated with these.
- Problem solving in relation to HSEQ activities to offer suitable controls for identified risks.
- Able to illustrate complex concepts and data in an easy-to-understand way.
