**Position Title**:English as an Additional Language (EAL) Learning Support Assistant

**Location**: Slough, Berkshire

**School**: Secondary School

**Salary**: £450-£500 per week

**Job Type**: Full-time (Monday to Friday)

**Start Date**: ASAP 2024

**Key Qualifications and Experience**:

- ESOL/TEFL qualification required.
- Preferable experience in a high school setting
- Ability to teach basic English to small groups of EAL students.
- Experience in conducting interventions with students from various year groups.
- Capable of supporting students in their regular classrooms and overseeing assessments for new arrivals

This is a temporary position from ASAP until the remainder of the academic year July 2024.

**Responsibilities**:

- Track the impact of EAL programs on students with limited English proficiency.
- Monitor the progress of EAL students.
- Evaluate identified students' progress through agreed assessment activities.
- Provide detailed and regular feedback on students' achievement, progress, and needs.
- Lead small group sessions and interventions as appropriate.
- Attend to students' personal needs as required.
- Support students in their learning and development in line with local and national learning strategies, as directed by the teacher.
- Display thorough knowledge of the curriculum and efficiently handle obstacles to learning.
