**Location**:London Paddington**

**Role purpose**:
Strategic responsibility for forecasting and delivering all aspects of the Group’s tax reporting process for all internal and external tax numbers.
Responsibility for briefing and managing key internal and external stakeholders (Audit and Risk Committee, SLT (Senior Leadership Team), Group CFO and EY auditors) on all tax reporting matters.
Management of reporting team with responsibility for tax numbers in line with Detailed Budget and Long-Range Plan.
Advise on all tax accounting issues as they affect the tax function.
Responsibility for management of tax accounting systems, processes and controls
Responsible for the delivery of the of the Group’s OECD Pillar 2 obligations, Country by Country tax report and externally published Total Tax and Economic Contribution Report
Responsible for preparing, and monitoring compliance, of the Group’s tax risk management policy.
Oversee delivery of Group Tax Technology Strategy with the Tax technology senior manager.
Active member of the Group Tax leadership and management team

**Key accountabilities and decision ownership**:

- Strategic management responsibility for all aspects of the tax reporting process
- Key point of contact for Group Chief Financial Officer & Investor relations team - key manager of relationship with external auditors,
- Owns the s404 Sarbanes-Oxley processes and controls
- Provide clear leadership & guidance to tax reporting team, working with business teams across Vodafone to ensure that reported tax numbers are appropriately compiled, understood and reviewed for external publication.
- Responsible for maintaining the systems and processes which support the tax reporting process and tax numbers.

**Key performance indicators**:

- Oversight and accurate reporting of c€1bn corporate tax charges each year - manage deferred tax assets of €18bn and tax provisions of c€0.4bn
- Tax results and narrative in Annual Report, Interim results announcements and Country by Country report
- Ensuring the Group’s tax numbers are audited efficiently and without issue.

**Core competencies, knowledge and experience**:

- Very strong tax accounting and tax technical knowledge
- Excellent communication skills and confidence in working with diverse audiences
- A good balance of pragmatism and compliance seeking to enable business and commercial projects
- Experience of working in a Group Tax reporting environment of a MNC (Multi National Company) (FTSE 50)
- Uses knowledge and experience to take a balanced risk assessment approach to all issues with focus on the integrity and accuracy of the reported results
