**Peabody**has an exciting opportunity for a **Housing Support Worker** on a **full time, permanent** **basis**based at our **Braintree** Interim Accommodation for single people and families.** **In return, you will receive a competitive salary of **£22,182 per annum.**

**About the Housing Support Worker** **role**:
As a Housing Support Worker you will be providing support and advice to a range of homeless households aged 18 who require support before moving on into independent living.

You will work as part of a rolling rota covering the hours of 8am - 7pm Monday to Friday including Bank Holidays. You may be required to work across various sites, so you will require a flexible approach to working.

There are also opportunities to work in other schemes and so increase your earnings.

Please note there is no personal care required for this role.
**What we're looking for in our Housing Support Worker**:

- A good knowledge of housing and welfare benefits, risk assessments and support planning processes- Experience with safeguarding vulnerable adults and children- The ability to promote independent living skills, advice and guidance around tenancy management, employment, education and training- Good communication skills and computer skills and the ability to keep accurate records- The ability to work as part of a team and manage a caseload
**What you can expect to be doing as our Housing Support Worker**:

- Providing help and support to tenants to develop skills such as budgeting, setting up home and seeking employment or training- Providing advice to tenants to help them gain access to other services and organisations (e.g. health services, social care or specialist services)- Ensure participation by the tenant in the management of all household tasks, through teaching and practical support- Carry out core housing management tasks, for example void inspections, checking alarms, sign-ups, move-in support and liaison with utilities and Housing Benefit, low level arrears management, organising liaison meetings, management of rent accounts and liaising with councils, estate/health and safety inspections, moving on support- Assist in the co-ordination of shift activities
