**Role overview**:

- To support individuals and families throughout Caerphilly who have housing related support needs as a result of experiencing domestic abuse.
- Working within the community and a multi-agency hub the Safer Caerphilly Centre.
- You’ll undertake risk assessments, management and safety planning
- You’ll create support plans and help people achieve their goals and independence, working collaboratively as part of a team who embrace differences
- You’ll act as a key worker to motivate and empower people to gain independence and reach their full potential
- Further enhance your relationship building and partnership working skills, by promoting your services and working closely with the local authorities, housing providers, landlords, specialist charities, Police, probation and social services
- 35 hours per week Monday to Friday 9.30am to 5pm (flexible working as per service need)
- Support Workers are required to be part of the first tier on call rota, including telephone and in-person support. Providing On Call support and advice for colleagues, with issues and emergencies they may need to deal with. This may require providing some shift cover / out of hours project attendance where alternatives are not possible

**What do you need to be considered for this role?**
- The ability to engage and build strong relationships with people
- A non-judgemental mind set and an understanding of the impacts of domestic abuse, trauma, homelessness, substance misuse and family breakdown
- A forward-thinking and resilient attitude, to overcome the barriers and setbacks you may face
- A strong character who can remain calm and collected in challenging situations
- Experience in support work or domestic abuse with an understanding of housing options, housing law and basic benefits
- A full UK driving license and access to a car

*Additional payment of £79.20 for on call

Any shift completed voluntarily or as part of on call will be paid in addition to your salary at relief rates;
Relief Pay per hour £11.55

Sleepover £155.70

**Salary**: £22,353.00 per year
