An exciting opportunity has arisen and we are looking to recruit highly motivated passionate ACC Clinical Coders to join our Coding Team on our journey to excellence.

If you currently don’t have your ACC but have 2 years + of NHS cross speciality Coding experience and are interested in joining our team we would be happy to work with you and our qualified Trainer will support you to work towards attaining your NCCQ.

Please also note if you are not qualified (ACC), but have two years of coding experience then this vacancy is banded to band 4.

As a team, we offer a completely flexible approach to working. This includes weekdays, evenings, and weekends to suit individual personal commitments and a healthy work/life balance.The Trust currently has paper medical records moving towards EPR and is able to offer 1 day per week working from home with the potential to increase in the near future.

The post holder will be responsible for providing an efficient and high quality clinical coding service to support the business needs of the Trust, including Clinical governance, Information governance and Finance by ensuring accurate and timely translation and input of medical terminology.

To analyse and extract diagnostic and procedural information from patient case notes and computer systems and assign the appropriate codes. The coded data is then used for comparative/planning purposes at both local and national level, clinical governance and finance.

To provide consistently recorded data to well defined standards. The Clinical Coding Department uses the ICD10 and OPCS4 classifications to record all diagnoses, procedures and any operations for all in-patient, day case and regular day/night admissions.

To provide accurate information to support Healthcare Resource Groups in facilitating the Payment by Results process within the NHS

To mentor non-qualified clinical coding staff.
