**Background**:
City, University of London's Communications Team is responsible for protecting and enhancing the reputation of the University and its six Schools.

We are currently seeking a Senior Communications Officer who can work with us to develop communications strategies to tell the story of Bayes Business School and to increase its external reputation.

You will join a team of motivated communications professionals committed to ensuring the world-leading research produced by academics at City reaches the right audiences. You will work particularly closely with the other Senior Communications Officer responsible for Bayes Business School.

**Responsibilities**:
The role holder will deliver an external PR strategy for Bayes Business School that will enhance its external reputation with our key audiences.

You will need to build strong relationships with academics and other staff across the School to source new research outputs, expert comment on the day’s news and stories about other key School events. You will use your first-class media relations skills to achieve national and international coverage of the impactful research, teaching and student support that the School delivers.

**Person Specification**:
The role holder will have significant experience either working as a Press Officer, a journalist or in an agency on external PR in a pressurised environment, preferably in the fields of Finance, Business or Education. Demonstrable experience of generating high profile media coverage for research or similarly complex material is required, along with experience of working with senior academic staff and or equivalent high-profile individuals. Experience of effective media crisis management is also desirable.
