**Job summary**:
The Defence School of Electronic and Mechanical Engineering (DSEME) provides electronic and mechanical training for specialist trades-persons, technical leaders and engineering managers in defence. As part of the Business Support Department, the IHub is primarily responsible for the effective administration of information within DSEME. The role, based in the school headquarters, provides an exciting opportunity to assist the IHub team to maximise exploitation of the new features available on the MODNET computer network, including Microsoft Office 365 Applications, such as SharePoint. The post holder will need to provide an excellent level of service and administrative support to the many military and civilian personnel on site. Fundamental daily tasks include ordering MODNET network accounts, administering account permissions and distributing and issuing loan Information Technology (IT) and Audio Visual (AV) equipment. The department manages a wide variety of functions and the IHub Administration team have the opportunity to share and individually specialise in the provision of these functions.

This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.

**Job description**:
The Information Hub Administrators (IHAs) perform the functions of the Information Support Administrator (ISA) role as defined in the Ministry of Defence (MOD) Information Management Policy (Joint Service Publication (JSP) 441 - Managing Information in Defence) and are essential contributors to the effective information management and exploitation within the organisation.

Responsible to the Information Hub Manager (IHub Mgr), the IHAs administer the efficient organisation and operation of the DSEME Information Hub in accordance with JSP 441, DSEME procedures, Standing Orders and electronic working practices. This includes administration of the Unit's correspondence, registered files, documents and records. Also responsible for the administration of the collaborative working environment (SharePoint), including TEAMS sites and the electronic document and record management system (EDRMS). The IHAs are responsible to the IHub Mgr for providing systems administrative support for all key IT networks controlled by DSEME Lyneham, including the Authorised Demander role. The IHAs provide administrative support to the Virtual Learning Environment Team when required. Also, to provide administrative support for the Communications Information Systems (CIS) and AV equipment managed by the department including auditing, accounting and issuing equipment and consumables. Other responsibilities include minute taking, assisting with site vetting to ensure all on-site contractors have the correct security clearance.

**Person specification**:
When necessary, the IHAs will need to assist the departments technical staff with audits, basic administration and distribution of IT and AV assets and equipment managed by the department. This will involve visiting other departments, buildings and equipment stores across the large MOD Lyneham site.
