Finance Manager
Location: Durrington, West Sussex (2 days a week in the office)
Working pattern: Monday to Friday
Hours: 37

**Salary**: £55,000-£65,000 dependent on experience

My utilities client is looking for a Support Services Finance Manager to work as the link between Finance and the Business. The role will play an integral role of the wider leadership team for the respective directorate(s). You will provide high qualityfinancial insight and support, robustly challenging decision making and drive continuous improvement in business performance and cost management. Your focus will be on the more financially complex directorates, responsible for promoting cost transformationwith ideas and insight. You will proactively move away from reactive to strategic interactions and will actively challenge and provide solid financial analysis to drive cost down. You will demonstrate expertise in building robust business cases and benefitstracking mechanisms for investment projects.

**Responsibilities**:

- Financial analysis of actual monthly results/trends to provide increased cost visibility and ownership, ensuring a robust control environment and informed and insightful commentary.
- Lead the financial monthly business review process and challenge the business to drive sustainable value proactively through informed and insightful decision making.
- Partner with the Directorates to provide financial insight and analysis to allow informed added value decisions to be made and robust, challenging yet achievable budgets and forecasts to be agreed.
- Reporting on Key Performance Indicators to drive cost reductions across the business, thereby identifying risks, errors, problems and improvement opportunities.
- Financial governance and management of change initiatives with appropriate efficiency metrics ensuring that all relevant financial and regulatory policies are adhered to.
- Develop key relationships with key stakeholders and provide direct support to Local Management for all Finance Topics (including commercial support, ad-hoc analysis and cost management).
- Represents the business partner area within the Finance Function and vice versa, in order to facilitate mutual understanding and alignment and to resolve potential issues in an effective and prompt manner.
- To provide support to the Price Review and understand the impact of any variances to our allowance. E
- Leadership and motivation for one direct report who acts as Finance Business Partner for the remainder of the Support Services functions.
About You:

- Degree educated (or equivalent) and/or professional accounting qualification and/or qualified by demonstrable experience.
- Proven ability to work with the business to understand and interpret the practical business implications of financial data.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills to ensure credibility with executive management.
- Well rounded with strong breadth of experience across all areas of finance.
- Demonstrable track record of strong financial leadership, ensuring best practices of accounting and reporting within a regulated environment.
- Ability to manage business process analysis and improvement including benefit estimation and post implementation metrics.
