**Salary: £ 48,526 to £54,619 per annum**

Sellick Partnership are recruiting for an experienced Deputy Head of Finance for a public sector organisation based in Nottingham on a permanent basis.

**The Deputy Head of Finance will be responsible for**:

- Utilise in depth specialist knowledge of business, legislative and organisation environment to assist in developing proposals and production of Integrated Business Plans and recommendations which impact on the divisional financial strategy
- Develop and manage influential relationships with key customers to provide specialist financial and commercial advice
- Evaluation of complex proposals and to influence the development of broader policy across the directorate
- Contribute to Organisation's financial planning and input to the directorates Integrated Business Plan through the whole organisation
- Understand and determine the implications of Commissioning decisions and directly liaise with local commissioners
- Direct the development, implementation and monitoring of compliance with the organisation's financial policy within the designated directorates, so ensuring that best practice is disseminated, and Directorate policy is consistent with Organisation's strategy
- To interpret the impact of Organisational Policy as it affects individual Directorates and prepare them for such impact.
- Direct, Lead and motivate the team, and Recruit and train new members of staff where appropriate
- Appraise staff through the PAD process to identify their training and development needs to maximise their potential and the contribution they make to the organisation
- Actively participate in improving systems or structures within the finance department
- Developing changes to business-wide structures and monitoring their success
- Developing detailed and accurate reports from General Ledger and other highly complex IT systems
- Seek out and develop relationships with key professional contacts - to represent the Directorate's and Trust's interests and to facilitate the exchange of information and the provision of informed financial advice
- set plans for relevant areas in accordance with timetables and cost improvement programmes as agreed with the Director of Finance
- Refresh budgets in line with national guidance and Organisation guidance
- To provide guidance and support to budget holders to enable effective financial control
- To identify and discuss with managers and clinicians, areas where savings and efficiencies can be made to enable more effective use of the organisations resources
- To analyse detailed and complex financial statements and forecasts and create reports and presentations that make them readily understandable to non-financial managers
- To ensure the preparation of accurate and timely financial reports for the Directorates. To review, interpret and present accounts and reports, ensuring that work meets best practice standards and is used appropriately to support proposals and recommendationsfor decision-making
- Experience of working in the public sector is essential
- Be CCAB qualified with significant post qualified experience
- Experienced and have good IT skills particularly for the general ledger, spreadsheets an Reporting
- Ability to demonstrate strategic thinking
- Experience in development, implementation, and monitoring of compliance to ensure best practice is disseminated
