**Senior Public Affairs Executive - Climate Action**

Climate17 is pleased to be working again with this international non-profit organisation who are climate action driven. They have exciting objectives and a challenging journey ahead to create a world of net zero carbon emissions by 2050. As part of the actionplan, they are targeting industry sectors with the highest emissions and are well on their way to success.

To help them in their quest and achieve their goal they are looking for an experienced and focused public affairs professional to lead the development and delivery of their steel-related comms strategy. You will work closely with the Head of Industry andbe a central part of the team, based at their central London offices, with a hybrid work pattern and some opportunity for overseas and UK travel.

**Responsibilities**
- Lead on the development and delivery of specific steel-related workstreams, whilst making sure they align with industry communications strategy.
- Create and deliver major international campaigns, integrate public affairs, comms and policy.
- Support senior leadership and incorporate work within the wider teams
- Convert fundamental policy positions into strong advocacy and leadership positions and represent in key markets and key stakeholders.
- Assist in project managing the development of future policy positions and thought leadership for their industry network.
- Drive stakeholder and external engagement, establish critical relationships with global organisations and support the profile of the Head of Industry.
- Help across all campaigns, build relationships and extend their network reach into targeted territories.
- Explore positive actions from stakeholders through building and utilizing an advocacy network (i.e. national and regional governments).
- Identify topical issues and trends relating to steel decarbonisation and build them into strategic campaign activities.
- Increase internal knowledge relating to the industrial sectors to shape strategies, enhance engagement and raise profile.
- Give sound advice and positively contribute to strategies across the industry work streams.

**Requirements**:

- Previous experience in advising, developing and delivering on public affairs strategies and channels.
- Effective in policy influencing skills, positioning, developing, writing and advocating.
- Strong understanding of integrated communications campaigns.
- Proven experience of working with regulated businesses
- Able to engage with critical stakeholders with highly technical content.
- Inspirational team player, able to spot where help is needed and comfortable to plan, work alongside and support on other activities.
- Good judgement and analytical capabilities with the ability to present a clear argument.
- Must have exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to build effective working relationships, across a range of cultural contexts and leadership teams
- A proactive approach and can work independently to deliver tasks and achieve objectives.
