We are looking to recruit Casual Outreach Workers to work alongside the Outreach Team on multiple caseloads. Specifically centred on the support required, working in the heart of our local community with children and families who required detached support, often described as ‘The Hardest to Reach’ The role will be flexible based on the demands of business and will include evening and weekends.

We are at an exciting time within our Outreach service as we are investing and increasing our resource so we can provide imminent support for our own children and families within Calderdale. We know in our service area we are fundamentally being the difference in children and families’ lives creating support for those in most need, building a framework through employing a multi-disciplinary approach to promote family networks, developing sustainable relationships.

You will be part of a small Outreach Team who are providing excellent field work to our children and families and you will be fundamental in maintaining excellent standards recognised in the wider support services. You will play a key role in forming assessment to establish clear areas of need and implement plans that are effective, outcome based and measurable.

The role requires employees to be flexible working evenings, weekends year-round and in exceptional circumstances short notice. This role is on a shift pattern basis over 7 days per week with hours from 7.30am to 10.30pm. As this is a casual role it will be evenings and weekends mainly and some full day shifts to support the team and help when cover is required.

You will support a programme that works in line with early intervention and preventative methods of children and young people becoming looked after by the care of the local authority. You will ensure high standards of professional practice are consistent with legislation, statutory guidance and evidence informed practice.

You will have experience of working with young people and families with behavioural and emotional difficulties and can provide effective and measurable support within their family home, using restorative and systemic practice underpinned by the residential services Model of Care. You will have field work experience working with young people and families and other multi-agencies; however, training will be provided.

You will be a passionate and dynamic individual who can form excellent relationships at different levels and equally empathise and engage with the service user/s individual situations. You will have excellent recording skills and time management skills, that profile setbacks and successes and equally implement achievable targets.

Applicants will have a good knowledge of field work activity and the risk management planning, dynamically assessing crisis situations and implementing safe practice measures. You will represent the service area and organisation to the standards outlined within visionary aims of Calderdale 2024.
