**Tax Specialist - Group Finance & Tax**

This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the tax compliance, financial dynamics and business strategy of the group within an established tax team of a leading nationwide recruitment company.We are looking for an ambitious Tax Specialist lookingto gain exposure to both financial and commercial issues and developing expertise in these areas.Your role will include the preparation, review and filing of tax returns for the whole group. You will also be researching technical tax issues, analysing financialdata and accounting records and report/policy writing to facilitate compliance with guidelines set out by HMRC.You will be liaising with a variety of people both internally and externally to provide tax advice on proposed and continuing activities.
**Your main responsibilities**:
- provide support to group finance in the production of periodic management accounts and annual financial statements
- provide support to group tax in the management of the group's tax returns, oversight of evolving tax issues and preparation of year end tax notes.
- liaising with key internal stakeholders and external parties i.e. advisors, auditors and HMRC
- assist with wider group responsibilities including treasury, insurance and pensions
This is an ideal role for someone studying towards ACA/CTA/ACCA/CIMA or relevant qualification with previous experience in accounting/tax practice or providing in-house accounting/tax advice.Experience of UK (and ideally international) accounting regimesis also required. You will be pro-active in nature, an enthusiastic team player and a confident communicator, able to effectively build relationships with the wider group in an effective and professional manner. You will have excellent Excel skills along withtechnical knowledge of tax legislation, tax systems and processes and financial accounting.
