Working exclusively with Robert Half, a market leading food distribution is seeking an Accounts Assistant to join its growing finance team based near Burnley. Established for 25+ years and recognised for its exceptional reputation within the food and distributionindustry, this is a unique opportunity to join a growing and successful business in this newly created role.

Reporting to the management accountant with a dotted line into the finance director, you will be responsible for assisting in preparing monthly management accounts, your role will include the following;
- Processing purchase invoices (100+ per week)
- Assisting with data Inputting of weekly stock figures and adjustments in the system and investigating variances
- Checking pricing & Investigating discrepancies
- Raising inter-company recharge invoices
- Weekly GRNI (goods received not invoiced) reconciliation
- Entering purchase orders, chasing up pricing and volumes
- Raising credit notes
- Assisting with journal entries (prepayments & accruals/salary/petty cash, credit card)
- Managing petty cash
- Supplier statement recs and setting up suppliers & customers
- Sending statements to customers and remittances
- Helping with product code set ups/pricing and maintenance
- Data Inputting of costing information in excel
- Weekly sales reporting using excel and pivot tables
- Cover for weekly accounts process in the absence of management accountant

About you:

- You will have a minimum of 2 years in a similar role as either a Finance Assistant or Accounts Assistant
- Ideally you will be studying AAT/CIMA/ACCA or open to studying
- You must have experience in assisting in producing/preparing monthly management accounts
- Previous experience within the distribution/food industry would be beneficial but not essential
- Be able to demonstrate your Excel skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
