**SEMH Teaching Assistant - Liverpool, L13**

Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant who specialises in supporting young people with who need a little extra support? Are you passionate about helping children and young people to develop into their best self and looking for a new, exciting opportunity of yourself too?

Chalk are recruiting Teaching Assistants to join a really special alternative school in the Liverpool L13 area. Part of a wider Multi-Academy Trust, this school supports both young people and schools in meeting the needs of individuals in a truly bespoke manner, by providing short term placements. Working on their needs in a holistic way, students are supported to address their targets, with the goal of successful reintegration back to their substantive schools always the main aim

You will be required to support students on a one to basis, in small groups and even larger groups, both academically and emotionally, across a variety of lessons and activities. There a wide range of needs at the school, but the high staff ratio supports this and behaviour is good at the school. You will be required to be flexible as the intake can change each term and needs will reflect this. You will be working alongside a supportive staff team ensuring a positive and safe learning environment is provided for all students.

**To be considered for this TA role you will need**:

- Experience supporting young people with a range SEND including SEMH
- Good literacy, numeracy and communication skills
- Excellent behaviour management with knowledge of a range of de-escalation techniques
- A positive attitude with a calm but firm approach

- Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service
- Eligibility to work in the UK
