MTrec Technical are proudly representing our prestigious manufacturing client, based in Tyne and Wear, with their plans for growth and expansion, by recruiting a Lead Tooling Engineer to join their team. **The Job You’ll Do;**
- Leading the repair and maintenance of all assembly and press tooling equipment in a timely manner.
- Leading planned maintenance activities, including technical improvement activities.
- Effective diagnosis and timely repair of equipment to maximise machine availability.
- Providing input into the management of direct reports including: recruitment, performance management, reward and recognition and training and development.
- Supporting the Tooling Supervisor in planning, coordinating and deploying technical resource on-shift to achieve operational goals and objectives
- Providing holiday/absence cover for the tooling supervisor, including but not limited to being the point of contact for the tooling department
- Perform scheduled and planned maintenance to reduce breakdowns and improve equipment performance and reliability.

**About You;**
- Have served a recognised apprenticeship in Die Maintenance or Tool Making
- ONC or equivalent level qualification
- Industrial manufacturing or automotive relevant engineering experience.
- Be proactive and autonomous in workload management.
- Be able to follow instructions, maintaining composure in pressurised situations
- Be able to communicate at all levels of the business.
- Be able to prioritise fluctuations in workload, asking for support when needed
- Be analytical, methodical and structured approach to fault finding
- Work cross-functionally/collaboratively to support achievement of shared goals and objectives.
- Have an interest in leadership and management
