We are looking to recruit to a Arboricultural Officer role.

The purpose is to undertake risk management of ash dieback disease and on-board additional trees from service directorates land portfolios, so that the trees will come into routine inspection and management. The ash dieback management will involve safety inspection, to arrange ecological assessment through other staff, arrange work programme, public communications, felling licences, specify work and oversee the site specific jobs through our main contractor.

Based at Bower Ashton Depot, Ashton Court Estate, Bristol, the Tree Management Team is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic person with a minimum qualification of Level 3 in Arboriculture or equivalent.

You will be part of a team of 6 Arboricultural Officers and will be inspecting and managing Council owned trees in the across the City. You will also be giving technical advice to non-tree trained people. This will be both within the Council and to customers. You need to be able to make decisions about tree management based on current industry research, QTRA and the relevant British Standards.

You will also need to have excellent communication skills, to be happy working on your own and managing your own workload and be able to travel around the City to carry out job requirements, within the required time frames. Please note you will
