**Salary**: £35.00 per hour

Essential functions and duties

To ensure Design Solutions meet internal & external customer requirements and deadlines.
To escalate where technical agreement has not been initially achieved.
To work with the wider Engineering team as necessary (e.g. for support requests, design review and exception management).
To ensure products, processes and procedures comply fully with applicable legal requirements, company policies and commercial standards, including RoHS.
To ensure all design information is fully documented and stored in the appropriate product design and product technical files.
To provide clear, consistent and appropriate communication across the business and to customers as required.

Qualifications / Experience

5+ years demonstrable experience in a mechanical design and development role working in a design for manufacture product development environment including leadership of a small design team.
Significant experience in:

- Mechanical system design including electro-mechanical systems.
Knowledge of complex electro-mechanical machinery design.
Testing and Developing of prototype designs.
Product lifecycle with product approvals / CE compliance.
Compiling of product/project technical files.
Team & personnel development and coaching
Process development, training, including some change management
Engineering qualification or similar, technical degree or equivalent preferred.
Competence on design based IT systems:

- 3D CAD (Solidworks).
2D CAD (ME10).
FEA.
Competent working appreciation of regulatory compliance (CE) marking requirements and associated regulations.
Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO14001 & OHSAS18001 with experience of implementing and developing quality procedures.
Take charge individual with lots of energy and clear sense of urgency.
Proven track record of meeting commitments with the highest standards of ethics and integrity.
Strong analytical skills - Able to identify solutions, and to create and drive clear action plans.
Effective communicator - Verbal, written and presentation.
Strong influencing skills.
Great team player.
Demonstrated experience working in a fast paced, matrixed environment satisfying multiple customers.
