Support Worker

1. To work with a man with disabilities at home and in the local community.

2. To be responsible to the client via the Case Manager.

3. To provide assistance and support as directed by the Case Manager.

4. To help the client participate in recreational and leisure activities.

5. To provide any personal care as required.

6. To provide nutritional meals for the client as directed by him.

7. To act as a driver for the client as necessary.

8. To accompany the client in the community and accompany the client to college when necessary.

9. To be flexible in hours of work to satisfy the clients requirements.

10. To accompany the client on holidays and weekends away when required.

11. To carry out domestic duties in the client’s house as appropriate

12. To undertake training and supervision as agreed by the Case Manager.

13. To liaise closely with any other professionals as directed by the Case Manager.

14. To work within agreed care techniques and strategies documented in the care plan.

15. To work alongside the client’s therapists and assist with agreed rehabilitation strategies and techniques.

16. To ensure client confidentiality in all matters relating to the client.

17. Any other appropriate and reasonable task in relation to the employment as agreed with the client and Case Manager.

7. Awareness of risk - the ability to identify areas of risk and present ideas of how to reduce that risk.

8. Self-motivation - the ability to remain motivated to provide support in spite of difficult circumstances in order to maintain the level of care required

9. Initiative - the ability to take a proactive role when required.

10. New learning - the ability to adapt to different situations.

Pay and Conditions Pay and Conditions
- You will be employed by the client acting by their court appointed property and affairs Deputy.
- You will be managed by the Case Manager and all personnel issues will be negotiated through the Case Manager.
- You will receive a permanent contract, which includes a 6-month probationary period. *As this is a new support package the contract will be reviewed in keeping with the client’s needs.
- The contract allows for 5.6 weeks paid leave. One/two* weeks leave (i.e. a quarter/half* of your annual leave entitlement) must be taken when the client is on holiday.
- The contract allows for up to 2 weeks paid sick leave per annum. This is calculated on a retrospective 12-month basis, not per calendar year.
- You will receive initial training and induction and regular supervision with the Case Manager. You will provide weekly timesheets to the Case Manager and be paid monthly into your bank account. Post available: up to 33 hours weekly x 2

Qualified staff assess clients’ needs and offer individually designed case management and rehabilitation programmes. The company was established in 1994 and is now a successful rehabilitation and case management consultancy, working in close co-operation with the legal profession. We now have five offices employing around 80 staff. We manage over 400 support workers and provide services to just under 400 client
