**Main Purpose of Job**:
As a Transport Specialist, you will be responsible for overseeing the movement, storage, and distribution of goods and materials for our organization. Your role is critical in ensuring that our products are delivered on time, in excellent condition, and at the right cost. You will work closely with hauliers, and other internal teams to coordinate transportation activities and optimize supply chain performance.

**This role will be based in either Motherwell, Scotland, or Ellesmere Port,** UK**

**Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities**:

- Develop and execute logistics plans and strategies to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods and materials.
- Be in the lead to explore all the logistic aspects for new trade lanes and/or new products.
- Manage relationships with hauliers, and other logistics service providers to ensure timely and accurate information exchange.
- Manage relationships with customs brokers and other logistics service providers to ensure timely and accurate customs documentation and clearance.
- Analyse transportation routes, modes, and costs to identify opportunities for improvement and cost reduction.
- Develop and maintain performance metrics to track and report logistics performance to management.
- Participate in the development and implementation of logistics policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Manage logistics-related issues, including damages, shortages, and discrepancies.
- Continuously identify and recommend opportunities for process improvement and cost savings.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and policies related to logistics operations.

**Health and Safety**
- Ensure a thorough knowledge of yourself and your teams Health & Safety responsibilities.
- Always wear Personal Protective Equipment as required. Take responsibility for your own PPE ensuring appropriate storage and care and ensure your team follow suit.
- Always strive to work in a manner safe to yourself and others and report any hazards immediately, ensure your team follow suit.
- Ensure all staff and visitors operates in compliance with Safety regulations
- Full responsibility for the safety of team members
- Actively participate in addressing Safety, Health and Environmental issues affecting the production areas, ensuring the relevant S, H&E checks are carried out and ensure your team follow suit.
- Full knowledge of the Plant Emergency Procedures and associated responses are required by you and your team.

**Skills**
- Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain management, with customs knowledge.
- Pro-active and keen to figure out how to approach new (unexplored) areas in relation to supply chain.
- Strong knowledge of customs procedures, excise tax regulations, and other relevant customs and trade compliance requirements in both EU and UK.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills related to customs and excise products.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work with, all participants of the supply chain and other logistics service providers.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team to ensure compliance with customs and excise regulations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and logistics management software related to customs and excise products.
