The role:
Foundry Operative (no night shift)

Are you an experienced Foundry Operative that is looking for a new challenge?

A fantastic opportunity has become available for a Foundry Operative to join a world leader in producing large cast and forged steel components based in Sheffield. The role will allow you to be part of a great team carrying out Foundry Operative duties within a world class facility.

Working Hours: 2 shifts (Mornings, Afters rotating)

Hourly Rate: £14.14 p/h + 8% Shift Allowance

Overview of the role of Foundry Operative:
To assist moulders in producing moulds and pouring molten steel to create a casting, to dig and sling castings when ready. General labour/housekeeping work.

Foundry Operative Key Responsibilities:

- Working at height
- Overhead cab and pendant crane driving
- General burning duties
- Slinging small to Large castings
- FLT driving
- Bobcat driving
- Sand mill operating
- Pecker driving
- Casting duties
- Digger driving

Essential Foundry Operative Skills & Experience:

- Overhead Crane driving
- Being able to maintain a high level of health and safety for themselves & other
- Being able to effectively manage daily & weekly work activity
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Understanding of the environmental implications of the role and take steps to ensure the required standards are met
- Willing to work shifts, weekends, and unsociable hours when necessary

Desirable Foundry Operative Skills & Experience:

- Digger driving
- Working at height
- Bobcat driving
- Pecker driving
- Slinging small to large castings
- FLT driving
- Sand mill operating
- Previous experience in a Foundry
- Crane driving & slinging experience
- Previous work in a hot work environment
