**Learning Support Assistant (Year 4)**

The Supply Room is currently recruiting for a highly motivated and dedicated Learning Support Assistant supporting Year 4 students at a school located in Shadwell. This is a temporary position starting in January 2024. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a crucial role in helping students achieve their full potential and make positive progress in their education.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Provide one-on-one support to students with additional learning needs, including assisting with class assignments and reinforcing lessons taught by the teacher.
- Work closely with the class teacher to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and strategies that support the specific learning needs of students.
- Assist in creating a positive and inclusive learning environment by promoting good behaviour and encouraging student engagement.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback to both students and the teacher.
- Collaborate with other members of the school team, such as the Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) and other learning support assistants, to ensure consistent support for students.
- Attend training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in special educational needs.

**Requirements**:

- Experience working with children, preferably in a school setting.
- Knowledge and understanding of the National Curriculum for Key Stage 2 (Year 4).
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to establish effective relationships with students, staff, and parents.
- A patient and empathetic approach, with the ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet individual needs.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

**Desirable**:

- Relevant qualifications in education or special educational needs.
- Experience in supporting students with specific learning difficulties, such as dyslexia or ADHD.
- Knowledge of additional languages spoken within the school community.
