Medical Secretary

An opportunity has arisen for a full time Medical Secretary within the Ear, Nose and Throat service at University Hospital Crosshouse. Flexible and enthusiastic, you will provide a comprehensive medical secretarial service to the Ear, Nose and Throat service based within University Hospital Crosshouse. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as is the ability to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team.

Primary duties will include audio transcription of clinic and discharge letters, maintaining and updating computerised waiting list, dealing with telephone enquiries from patients, relatives, GPs and other external and internal agencies.

You should have a relevant secretarial qualification, e.g. AMSPAR Diploma for Medical Secretaries, RSA or Scotvec qualification. Medical terminology is essential for this post.

This is a secondment/fixed term opportunity for one year.
