**What is the purpose of this role?**
The purpose of this role is to perform a range of assigned front line maintenance/operational activities on our sewage pumping stations in the Thames Valley north area (Oxford, Wallingford, Didcot, Reading).
This will include planned and preventative maintenance of sewage pumping stations to support the operation of our assets.
The role may also require the technician to take part in a 1 week in every 6 weeks out of hour's emergency standby rota, for which an additional payment will be received.
**What makes this role unique?**
Our technicians and engineers are a vital component in what Thames Water do. Our technicians are key figures on any site and often in the eye of the public. You will help with the day-to-day operation of our sewage pumping stations. You will be a team playerand be able to think on your feet and problem solve. Those with a can do attitude and who can work efficiently are paramount to what we require to enable us to provide an exceptional service to our customers.
**What will this role involve?**
On a day-to-day basis, you will receive your “workload” and will also be responding to emergency alarms. You will be working as part of a team but may also be alone which highlights the importance of our high H+S standards. You will have your own van and toolssupplied which you will keep maintained to a high standard.
**This role will require you to take responsibility for the below**:
Upkeep of sewage pumping stations, planned maintenance, reactive maintenance, fault-finding, H+S for yourself and the sites you work on.

- Dry well mounted pumps
- Strate pump systems
- Vacuum pump systems
- Line shaft pumps
- Ultrasonic level instruments
- Float switch instruments
- Multismart control units
- NRVs
- Gate valves
- Rotor valves
- Mobile generators
**What skills are we looking for?**
You will have basic literacy and numeracy skills. Relevant industrial processing/engineering environment experience; ideally in the water industry would be advantageous. Understanding of the workings of a sewage pumping station to include knowledge on differentpump and valve systems would be preferable.
Due to the nature of this role, a full clean driving licence required.
