Mid-Senior Level - Fully remote available **within the UK**

Wushu Studios is looking for a talented Game Designer to drive innovation and excellence in our games. This is a highly collaborative role, so partnering with other disciplines is crucial. As a go-to person for defining communicating and implementing systems, features and mechanics, you will influence the fundamentals of what makes our games fun.

**Responsibilities**
- Create detailed and easy-to-digest documents and materials to communicate designs, as well as help implement them from prototype to release quality, using industry standard engines as well as proprietary technologies.
- Work closely with all internal teams, from art and design to engineering, to help define the direction and vision of our titles.
- Deploy creativity, insight, and experience to develop thrilling new systems, features, and mechanics. Refine and iterate these from concept through to release.
- Continuously provide feedback to other members of the team.
- Communicate design with peers, stakeholders, and clients to ensure everyone understands the goals and direction of the features you are crafting.

**Requirements**:

- Experience in crafting gameplay experiences, systems and/or features from concept to completion.
- A proven track record in game design.
- An understanding of what makes good gameplay: movement, animation, control, cameras, user interface and a feel for the secret sauce that binds all these together.
- Skills and experience to rapidly iterate ideas and turn around feedback.
- Encourage a culture of sharing and learning within the design team.

**Desirables**
- Strong knowledge of logic and one or more visual scripting languages (i.e., Blueprint, XML, Lua).
- A working knowledge of game engines (UE4/5 or similar).
- Expertise in one or more of the following: AI, animation, tools, gameplay, UX, UI, systems, game economies, gameplay tuning, 3c’s & game feel.
- Experience in Maya or other 3D packages.
- Ideally one or more shipped titles.
