_Childcare Practitioner _
We are seeking experienced and qualified (NVQ 3 +) Nursery Practitioners to join the team in one of our unique nurseries. Your role would include working alongside a friendly, long-serving team and delivering excellent quality care and education within our well-established childcare ethos, which we have embedded across our two settings in Harborne.
The successful applicant will have experience working in childcare and a minimum level 3 childcare qualification.
The role will be self-motivating and highly rewarding with a focus on delivering outstanding outcomes and experiences for the staff team, the children, and the families we serve.
**About us**:
This position is based in The Cornerhouse Nursery, located in the leafy suburb of Harborne. This restored period property has retained many of its beautiful features. The genuine home from home ethos is continued inside where the well-inspired interiors are enjoyed by children, parents, and staff.
We are just a couple of minutes away from Harborne Village which offers great transport links.
The successful person will be s highly motivated and qualified childcare professional. They will carry out a vital role in caring for children, maintaining a high-quality, stimulating learning environment and passing on their knowledge and skills to others. They will be creative and reflective leaders able to implement new ideas and use a range of strategies to continually improve practice and support the management team.

**Main duties and responsibilities**:
To contribute to the creation of a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for all children who attend the nursery.
To be aware of policies and procedures and ensure these are adhered to when necessary.
To be responsible for the welfare of all children in your designated room, organising systems to ensure consistent, high-quality care.
To be vigilant and protect children from harm or abuse, reporting any concerns immediately - in accordance with our child protection and whistleblowing policies
To reflect on practice and routines, tailoring them to meet the individual needs of each child throughout the day.
To actively implement 'in the moment' planning and provide a stimulating range of age-appropriate activities. Ensuring your room is well-resourced and creatively set up.
To observe and assess children’s learning and development. Ensuring records are kept up to date, are of a high standard and are shared effectively, this will include Individual Education Plans for children with Special Educational Needs.
To develop genuine bonds with your key children and support and monitor colleagues to sensitively fulfil their key person responsibilities.
To work in partnership with all parents/carers, building and maintaining relationships that encourage trust, open communication, and involvement in nursery life.
To be a professional and a good role model to the children and other staff members, always.
To work flexibly as part of the larger team, assisting and supporting colleagues wherever required, to ensure the smooth running of the nursery.
To attend reasonable out-of-working-hours activities, including training, staff meetings, parents’ evenings, and special events.
To cooperate and work effectively with the management team, taking on additional responsibilities/duties and positively promoting developments in policies and procedures to team members
