**About the Test Engineer role**:
Our Test Engineers play a critical role in Vitality’s successful business model by planning and executing tests on products and features to validate that they are fit for purpose.

As our **Test Engineer**, you will work independently across a number of technologies. You will initiate test projects based on a standardised test framework template, to ensure all features and functions undergo rigorous testing, are fit forpurpose and meet acceptance criteria.

You may be asked to provide support to and coach Associate Software Engineers.

**Your responsibilities as our Test Engineer**:

- Implementing the software test life cycle: the process used to test software and ensure that quality standards are met. Including test analysis and design, test estimation, test planning and approach, test execution, defect management, and reporting
- Coordinating the delivery of work for Associate test engineers working on the same project
- Test analysis and design: Designing descriptive and prescriptive tests (both automation and manual) which are written to consider full system integrations
- Test estimation: Estimating the testing effort for collective test work within assigned projects
- Test planning and approach: Developing overall test plan and approaches for assigned projects; plans and implements continuous integration using pipeline tools
- Test execution: Running tests as required
- Defect management: Identifying and raising defects to the agreed standard
- Reporting: Producing reports as required in relation to assigned work and the project phase
- Adhering to testing standards: adhering to the Group test strategy that defines the required testing standards and practices

**What we’re looking for in our Test Engineer**:

- ISTQB certified tester foundation level
- Working towards relevant (where applicable to their role) accreditation / certification
