WeSTRIVE Mentoring Ltd. focuses on encouraging an open and positive mindset to aid personal growth in relation to emotional management and self confidence.

**MAIN PURPOSE OF YOUR ROLE**:
To have oversight of the day to day running of the Back on Track Room.

To develop and deliver programmes designed to help students reflect on and improve behaviour.

To play an integral role in the development of procedures and processes to enhance the

delivery of provisions in the Back on Track Room in order to meet the needs of students and

the school.

To liaise with Senior Leadership Team, Year Directors and other key colleagues and play a

substantial role in improving the conduct of students who display challenging behaviour.

**KEY TASKS**:
To supervise students working in silence. These students will be on pre-arranged internal

exclusions as an alternative to suspensions.

To supervise students who have been removed from lessons.

To manage and maintain a calm and purposeful working environment in the Back on Track

Room which is conducive to good behaviour and where students can continue their learning.

To manage the administration of the school detention system.

To prepare suitable work, tasks and activities for students to complete in silence during their internal exclusion - this may require liaison with other staff at the school, with all completed work being returned to relevant staff.

To promote student continuity of learning, liaise with Head of Faculties to organise and manage a bank of parallel learning resources.

To clarify and explain instructions to students and where necessary, reinforce the reasons for their sanctions.

To exercise a high level of negotiation and interpersonal skills to ensure that students adopt appropriate behaviour and challenging behaviour is kept to a minimum at all times.

To ensure students have access to all the equipment they will need to work in silence during their internal exclusion.

To enact strategies for dealing with students with emotional and behavioural difficulties if students fail to comply with internal exclusion rules such as working in silence.

To implement a restorative approach to modify and improve behaviour, to strengthen a positive relationship between other students and staff and to promote and reinforce high levels of self-esteem.

To keep and maintain accurate records of students attending the Back on Track Room.

To liaise with Year Directors and parent/carers when a student’s behaviour in the Back on Track Room is below the level required, to ensure parent/carers are aware of the incident and the expected levels of behaviour that are required from their child.

To be a positive role model for students in dress and conduct within the school.

Pay: £90.00-£110.00 per day
